In the first edition of the Teach&Learn Program, parents-employees registered 41 students. There were also 30 volunteer teachers (employees and their children) who connected remotely with their mentees in their free time to explain and clarify the complexities of mathematics, physics, chemistry, and English for a total of 53 hours per week – both at the elementary and high school levels, at basic and advanced levels.
The most frequently chosen subjects were mathematics and English. These were chosen first not only by students but also by tutors. Among the latter were 13 mathematicians and 15 English teachers. Four teachers wanted to teach chemistry, three – physics, and one signed up as a German teacher. There was no shortage of volunteers who chose several subjects at once! All of them helped the children of their colleagues from production plants and offices in Wadowice, Tychy, Olsztynek, Tymbark, Warsaw, and the Trade Structure.
On behalf of the students and their parents, the Teach&Learn Program Team would like to thank all the volunteer teachers who have been involved in volunteering so far – for their commitment, positive energy, and time spent.

WHAT DO PARENTS AND TUTORS THINK ABOUT THE PROGRAM?
Jacek, father of Kinga and Michał: I would like to thank the Teach&Learn Program team for efficiently organizing tutoring for my children – Michał and Kinga. This is very valuable support during the pandemic. Each tutor demonstrated great knowledge and was able to convey it very well. I also thank the organizers, who ensured that everything was perfectly arranged.
Edyta, mother of Michał and Wiktor: I see only positives in the Teach&Learn Program. My sons really liked the tutors and eagerly participated in the meetings. The lessons were conducted in a pleasant atmosphere, but also resulted in acquiring new knowledge or supplementing existing knowledge. Therefore, I would like to thank you on behalf of myself and my children for the time spent and sharing your knowledge.
Dariusz, tutor: The T&L Program is a great idea to improve and consolidate the knowledge of the children and young people who participated.
Karolina, tutor: I consider participating in the Teach&Learn Program to be an extremely interesting and enriching experience. It allowed me to break some of my barriers and become more open, and it gave me a lot of satisfaction. Stepping into the role of a teacher was incredibly interesting; I could look at learning from the “other side.” Above all, it was an opportunity to meet interesting young people, spend my free time valuably, and share my knowledge. I don’t hide that it was a challenge for me, but as it usually happens – the first step was the hardest, and I gained a lot from participating in the Program!
Jarosław, tutor and father of Hanna and Julietta: In the age of the pandemic, where school education deviates from accepted standards, additional tutoring is the perfect idea to maintain the level of education. I first signed my older daughter Julietta up for English. After the first lesson, she was delighted. The next step was to enroll my younger, 7-year-old daughter for beginner English, as she is just entering the school world – Karolina (the tutor – ed.) approached her with great understanding. My daughter quickly liked her teacher and couldn’t wait for the next lessons. Seeing how the project was developing, I also decided to get involved – as a tutor. I took on the role of a math teacher, helping one of the students prepare for the eighth-grade exam. It was a big responsibility, and we are waiting for the results. I would like to thank their tutors on behalf of my daughters for their understanding, patience, and approach, for the high level of teaching, and for their openness and excellent communication.
Izabela, mother of Blanka and Oliwier: For the smiles, the heart, the kind words, for debunking the myth that effective learning is impossible due to age differences and distance, for an hour unlike any other, for encouraging work even though the end of the year was near. For helping discover that math is not the work of “dark forces”;) and that English is not just book grammar rules. For relieving us parents of a part of our children’s education. For all this, a big thank you. The initiators and organizers of the program also deserve thanks for the idea and support at a time when so much fell on our shoulders.
Ewelina, tutor: Tutoring is something I had never experienced before. I had never taken tutoring myself, so I didn’t know what it might look like and what expectations the children would have, but I think it’s a fantastic initiative! As a tutor, I am trying my hand in a new area – teaching – and at the same time, I am also learning. Of course, tutoring requires preparation, patience, and energy, but when you hear that the child you are teaching got an “A” or that “the lesson was fun,” you have no doubt about continuing the lessons.
Małgorzata, mother of Barłomiej and Tomasz: The Teach&Learn Program is a great idea. I am glad I could enroll my sons in it. The boys benefited from English lessons, which, in addition to written exercises, included primarily conversation and an individual approach that is lacking in regular school lessons. Tomek and Bartek are very satisfied. It was another adventure with the language for them, and they did well in cooperation with the tutors. It was a kind of test, and I saw satisfaction on their faces. The tutors for my sons were Agnieszka and Mateusz from the Export Department, with whom I work daily. I convey a BIG THANK YOU to them for their time and energy.
Mateusz, tutor: The Teach&Learn initiative is great, and I am glad that we are starting another edition in September. The June classes coincided with the eighth-grade exam, so we spent most of the time solving practice sheets and exercises related to the test. However, the program’s formula allows for learning independently of the material covered in school, and I think that is the most valuable. In the case of English, in addition to “book” knowledge, I can provide students with practical tips that are often overlooked in standard school lessons.
